Listen for His Voice ….

There is so much that I want to tell you about the Spiritual Wake-Up Call that I experienced today, but I will try not to ramble too much… Let me try to give you a little background.  Last year this time, almost to the day, I wrote a post about my son (please take a moment to read). Basically, my son has been in and out of my life for the last 4 years or so and last year, he reappeared.  Well, it seemed that every time he left, it became easier and easier not to have him around.  So in essence, I was letting God know that I was really OK with that, but I would continue to pray that he recommit his life to Christ.  I feel the rambling beginning, so let me move on…

On Mother’s day, he left me a note addressed to “Candy”, which crushed the moment right off the break!  So needless to say, I had mixed emotions.  The other details really aren’t important!  So let’s fast-forward to today…

The Holy Spirit is always preparing us, but we have to Listen for His Voice!

Just during this past week, He said, Don’t lose sight of your true purpose.  So often the enemy will try to distract us and take us off course.  Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteous and all these things will be added unto you. Matthew 6:33  Everything works together for good to those that love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3

But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.   James 1:4

In Blog Chill Day # 22, He spoke to me first and I was able to share it with all of you ….

The Holy Spirit is always speaking to us, but we have to Listen for His Voice!

So let me try to bring this all together.  My son entered the sanctuary today with his sunglasses on (to keep out the Light of His Glory!) and I knew that we were at Square Zero, according to what I saw.  I didn’t totally understand why but I could not stay in church while he was there.  I went outside and I started to cry, almost uncontrollably. It made no sense (I thought)… what was the big deal? … but I was just so overwhelmed!

While I was outside my husband, one of the Elders and a Deacon prayed for me (strategically placed there? …I’m sure!)  Then I was kindly told to return to my seat, so that I could hear the Word of God. Right before the message, my son left.  During the message, the Lord reassured me that He will take care of my son, but I had to trust Him!

I can’t put into words all that was revealed to me today, but there was a very interesting twist as this episode comes to a close new beginning… Although I am not crazy about bright colors, I wore a CORAL top with matching shoes today and I kept noticing shades of ORANGE throughout the sanctuary and then on people walking on the street and on folks in the restaurant where we ate.  So I ask my daughter to Google it.

ORANGE offers emotional strength in difficult times.

It helps us to bounce back from disappointment & despair.

The color psychology of orange is optimistic and uplifting, rejuvenating our spirit!

WOW!
