The Fall season is the best time of the year to prepare for change. This is a season of transition. We have had to move quicker from the summer to Back to School! For most, the daily routine has changed. As I remember it, the children’s bedtime changes. We have to do homework and prepare the clothes the night before. It was also wise, to have the book bags packed and lunches prepared and in the frig. My kids didn’t just jump out of bed the next morning… so we had to allow for the slow movement to get teeth brushed, face washed, etc. etc. etc. , which made the prep the night before even more critical.
Our work routines may also change slightly. In most businesses, not all, the summer months are a tad slower. Workloads may vary as we cover vacations, however, when activity ramps up and everyone is back to work, adjustments have to be made.
So from September until about the middle of November, we are in transition. Then we begin preparing for the holidays and before you know it, a new year is upon us. I would suggest that we “Fall Into Order”. Start planning now! In a little more than six (6) months, we will be ending the first quarter of 2014. I realize that some of us REALLY don’t want to think that far ahead, however, it will be here before you know it.
Let me suggest that Falling in Order, be a positive transition! Identify three (3) things that you want to accomplish. No, I don’t mean resolutions….. but 3 realistic goals, i.e., read a great book, plan a family outing (that’s not a part of the hustle and bustle of the holidays), make a date night with the spouse and keep it. Order doesn’t mean just organizing the closet or basement, yes, it may help, but there’s more to it.
Identify those obstacles which may hinder a smooth transition… those things that might get in the way of the 3 positive goals that you want to accomplish in the next 6 months, 180 days, 4320 hours. You do have time, if you plan now to Fall into Order!

As you read, remember 2015 will be here before you know it!!!
I’m not sure I’m ready for goal setting; I’m aiming for survival for the first few weeks. Maybe goal setting would help keep priorities in place and keep me on focusing on too much.
I can definitely relate to “survival mode”, but things are moving quickly and we really can’t afford to be distracted. Identifying those “MUST DO’s” is very important. Take a few really deep breaths and try to focus.. 😀
